Víctor González y Raquel Corral
[EN] Víctor González and Raquel Corral are, respectively, a building official and a care assistant at the Local Centre for Community Health in the district of San Blas. In these two videos, they describe how the district has been shaped since the fifties, and the work in health promotion and prevention that they carry out in the Local Centre, which is organised by programmes and community projects and is run by an interdisciplinary public health team.
In response to the experience of Trieste, they point out some of the main tensions they find in their own work: the difficulty of promoting an idea of health that doesn’t start with illness, the search for a more egalitarian relationship between citizens and professionals, the institutional contradictions between the tasks and responsibilities the institution has assigned itself and its organizational structure, and the need to perform qualitative impact evaluations of their work. They finish the video stating a point that is central for them in thinking about their work: We have to adapt to the community, it’s not the community that has to adapt to the Centre.

En estos dos vídeos, describen la configuración del distrito de San Blas desde los años 50 y el trabajo en promoción de la salud y prevención que se realiza en su centro, estructurado por programas y proyectos comunitarios y realizado por un equipo sociosanitario interdisciplinar.
Partiendo de escuchar la experiencia triestina, ponen sobre la mesa algunas de las principales tensiones que se encuentran en su trabajo cotidiano: la dificultad para abordar una concepción de la salud que no tenga la enfermedad como punto de partida, la búsqueda de una relación más igualitaria entre la ciudadanía y los profesionales, las contradicciones institucionales entre las competencias que se asigna y la forma organizativa de la que se dota, así como la necesidad de realizar evaluaciones de impacto en salud mediante técnicas cualitativas. Cierran el vídeo planteando una cuestión que para ambos es central para pensar su trabajo: tenemos que adaptarnos a la comunidad, no que la comunidad se adapte al centro.
